Blood Sugar

If the blood sugar is very high the priority is to control the elevated blood sugar to save him from life threatening complications. There are homeopathic remedies, called organopathic remedies that could reduce the sugar. The commonly used one are Uranium Nitricum, Phosphoric Acid, Syzygium Jambolanum, Gymnema sylvestre and Cephalandra Indica. These are used in physiologically active doses such as Mother tincture or 3x, depending up on the level of the blood sugar and the requirement of the patient.

Another approach is to understand the profile of the patient through a patho- physiological profiling through a detailed case taking and then select a constitutional remedy. Common homeopathic blood sugar medicine names are:-

Gymnema Sylvestre- It is indicated when in diabetes, a patient presents with profuse urine loaded with sugar, the passage of which makes the patient feel very weak. There may also be burning all over the body and diabetic carbuncle.

Syzygium Jambolanum- It helps in the disappearance of sugar in the urine. It is indicated when there is great thirst, profuse urination, weakness, emaciation and prickly heat in the upper part of the body.

Uranium Nitricum-It is indicated when the urine is copious and acidic such that it causes burning in urethra. The patient is not able to retain this urine without pain.

Syzygium jambolanum or S. cumini (black plum) is said to help treat thirst, weakness, skin ulcers, and excessive urination.

Uranium nitricum is marketed to treat excessive urination, nausea, swelling, and burning with urination.

Conium (hemlock) is purported to treat numbness in the feet and hands as well as diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage).

Plumbum (lead) is said to help with numbness in the hands and feet, nerve pain, and tinnitus.

Calendula (marigold) is said to treat infected ulcers.

Phosphoric acid is promoted to treat impaired memory, confusion or heavy head, frequent urination at night, hair loss, and difficulty maintaining an erection.

Candida (yeast) is said to treat yeast infections.
